Western Grove Tradition Regional Park Western Grove Regional Park “WeGro” is a proposed park that will be dedicated to the active lifestyle hosting baseball and softball fields, soccer and open green fields, walking trails, part of the T-Trail system and a gathering place for all members of the community.
Stars and Stripes Park
Tradition has proposed an ambitious new amenity within the community. Stars And Stripes Park will be an open-air destination for residents on foot, on bikes, in cars or using the free TIM shuttle service. The entire park is decorated with flowers and pathways, with open field and pond areas providing scenic views. One area is brightly decorated with a patriotic art installation featuring colors that gleam by day and shine from within by night. This is sure to be a prime spot for selfies, but the sobering messages written on the points of the glowing metal “stars” are something to read and reflect upon. A flower-lined walkway connects this area to the parking lot and through an interesting treeline of bamboo. Passing this, residents will emerge near a huge model of the solar system. This display consists of a huge, gyroscopic sun and the concentric orbits of each planet — from nearby Mercury to distant Pluto, with plaques for each. The sun, and each planet, will also be colorfully lit at night.
The Heart
This soaring, fanciful shape will stand 73 feet tall, with a reflective stainless steel surface capturing Florida’s beautiful skies by day — and dramatic illumination by night. Poised brilliantly upon a circular pedestal at the intersection of Discovery Way and Village Parkway, it’s sure to draw attention. Residents can even climb inside the installation and emerge onto a glass bridge connecting both sides of the HEART. This feature puts residents high above ground for far-reaching views, and is sure to inspire many sharable photographs, videos and memories here in Tradition. Now under construction in JEFRË’s Orlando studio, the HEART is (quite appropriately) scheduled for public dedication in Tradition Fall, 2024.
T.I.M (Tradition in motion)
The TIM (Tradition in Motion) shuttle program has been a hit, connecting guests and residents to key places and activities around Tradition. Soon we’ll be adding 4 more shuttles and creating additional routes to make TIM an even more convenient service. These safe, air-conditioned vehicles are staffed by tour guides who can answer any question about Tradition life! TIM rides are always free of charge and always safe for the environment.
